Function documentationDecision on Delimiting or Deleting Successor Assignments and Talent Assignments

The system either delimits successor assignments and talent assignments, or deletes them completely. To do so, it uses the logic described below.

Features

Successor Assignment to Position
  • If the successor assignment starts before the employee concerned becomes the holder of the position and overlaps with the holder assignment, the successor assignment is delimited for the day before the start date of the holder assignment.

    Example Example

An employee is assigned as a potential successor of a position from March 1 to September 30 of a year. On June 1 of this year, the employee becomes the holder of this position. Therefore, the system delimits the successor assignment for May 31.

    End of the example.
  • If the successor assignment starts on the date on or after the employee concerned becomes the holder of the position, and overlaps with the holder assignment, the successor assignment is deleted.

    Example Example

An employee is assigned as a potential successor of a position from March 1 to September 30 of a year. On February 15 of this year, the employee becomes the holder of this position. Therefore, the system deletes the successor assignment.

    End of the example.
  • If the successor assignment starts after the holder assignment has ended, it is not changed.

    Example Example

An employee is assigned as a potential successor of a position from March 1 to September 30 of a year. The employee is the holder of this position until February 28 of this year. Therefore, the system does not change the successor assignment.

    End of the example.
Talent Assignment to Talent Group or Job Family
  • If the assignment starts before the change to the employment status for the employee concerned and overlaps with this, it is delimited for the date before the date of the status change.

    Example Example

An employee is assigned to a talent group as a talent from March 1 to September 30 of a year. On August 1 of this year, the employee's employment status changes to Left Company. Therefore, the system delimits the talent group assignment for July 31.

    End of the example.
  • If the assignment starts after the status change it is deleted.

    Example Example

An employee is assigned to a talent group as a talent from March 1 to September 30 of a year. On February 28 of this year, the employee's employment status changes to Left Company. Therefore, the system deletes the talent group assignment.

    End of the example.
