Function documentationStarting a Process without Employee or Object Selection

You can choose to start a process from the Portal without the need to first select an object or employee.

You can achieve this by using the URL parameter WITHOUT_START_OBJECT in a copy of a standard FPM application configuration.

This produces the same effect as using the Skip Employee Selection check box (with regard to Personnel Administration processes) or the Skip Object Selection check box (for Organizational Management processes).

For more information, see Process Start Without Employee Selection.

Features

In the 4-step roadmap (see Standard FPM Application Configurations in HCM P&F), the first step (selection of the employee or object) is skipped. The 4-step road map is used in the following cases:

  • Start of an employee process without the selection of PERNR at the start

The possible roles starting this process are the Manager and HR Administrator. The road map is determined by the application type PA and the URL parameter WITHOUT_START_OBJECT=X.

  • Start of an organizational process without the selection of the object at the start

The possible roles starting this process are the Manager and HR Administrator. The road map is determined by the application type PD and the URL parameter WITHOUT_START_OBJECT=X.

The above cases can be handled by using the FPM standard application configuration ASR_EXECUTE_4_STEP.

Activities

The URL parameter WITHOUT_START_OBJECT is entered in the Application Parameters field of the iView for the ASR_EXECUTE_4_STEP FPM standard application configuration. It is entered as WITHOUT_START_OBJECT=X:
