Business Context and Use

The Create Utilities Time Series Item as Bulk inbound service operation is used by a third party system (for example, MDUS) to import bulked profile values using the respective profile numbers.

Features

To create the time series values, you must specify the profile ID (UtilitiesTimeSeriesID). You can only specify one status value for the ElementItemStatus.

The upload of profile data is logged using the AMI monitor.

You should always upload complete periods for each profile.

Related Operations

The outbound counterpart for this inbound operation is the UtilitiesTimeSeriesERPItemBulkCreateConfirmation_Out operation.

To change time series you can use the Service Operation UtilitiesTimeSeriesERPItemBulkChangeRequest_In.

Error Handling

The UtilitiesTimeSeriesERPItemBulkCreateRequest_In operation supports Forward Error Handling (FEH). The following error categories are used:

  • DCE.VME: Value mapping error

  • PRE: Processing error

  • PRE.AUE: Authorization error

  • PRE.CVE: Cross validation error

  • PRE.IDE: Identification error

  • PRE.TEE.LRE: Lock request error

  • PRE.VAE: Value error

For more information about individual error categories, see the code list for the global data type LogItemCategoryCode.

Notes on SAP Implementation

To use this service operation, activate the Utilities business function set (ISU_UTIL_1).

Enhancements

The Business Add-In (BAdI) ISU_SE_TSITEMCRTBLKRCI_ASYN is available for this service operation. You can use this BAdI to create a customer-specific logic for the outbound mapping of application data. This BAdI is found in the enhancement spot ISU_SPOT_SE_TIMESERS.

You can define the AMI monitoring response in the BAdI ISU_SE_TSITEMCRTBLKRCI_ASYN, method INBOUND_PROCESSING as follows:

  • Log all AMI messages

  • Log AMI messages that contain errors

  • Do not log AMI messages
