Product visualization is an integral component in modern business software solutions. SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer provides visualization as a permanently available and fully-integrated solution component. The viewing functionality is always available to enable the visualization of parts and assemblies when working on tasks within a business process.

With SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer, you can extend correct and uniform product data across the complete enterprise by publishing 2D images and 3D scenes on all industry-standard desktop applications. This improves the quality of internal and external communication as well as collaboration processes.

SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer is available both as a standalone executable program and as an ActiveX control. The standalone executable program provides an easy convenient way for viewing files and associated collaboration. 3D files display as standalone files, rather than as objects embedded in Word or Powerpoint. The ActiveX control allows the viewing and collaboration functionality of SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer to be used from web pages, Word documents, Powerpoint presentations, and other ActiveX compliant applications.

For a comprehensive viewing experience, SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer provides an extensive range of functions. These include, but are not limited to the following:

Pull-apart and reassembly functions integrated directly in 3D scenes
Angle and distance measurements, including measurements between vertices, edges and faces, as well as the determination of arc centers
Display of cross-sectional views
Alteration of render modes
Zooming, panning, flying through, rotating, and walking through scenes
Display of parts lists associated with 3D scenes
Playback of steps, procedures, and 3D animations
Loading and rendering CGM files

Note

The file formats DWG and DXF have 2D characteristics when vector lines are applied and do not function in the same manner as pure 3D file formats. For example, you cannot rotate a model rendered with vector lines and saved in a DWG format.

If you are using SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author, CAD files should be saved as .rh files before being inserted or dragged into Office documents.
