XML Document Editor
XMetaL Author Enterprise is an application used to create xml documents. The DITA standard for xml authoring is implemented, and SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer is embedded into DITA output. This is a Technical Writer/Illustrator workflow.
Technical writers using XMetaL can embed 3D content into their DITA compliant output using XMetaL Author. Links to each scene step can be inserted into each DITA task’s sub-step.
From here, this content can be pushed through to SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author to generate steps and procedures with descriptions based on the XML document, and following the DITA format and naming compliance.
The content can also be pulled from SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author into the XML Document Editor. This populates the XML document with information from the procedure in the Steps and Procedures panel, but the steps names and procedure names are adjusted to follow the DITA format and naming compliance.
Click
(Open) in the XML Document Editor panel toolbar.
Select an existing XML document generated in XMetaL Author.
Open a 3D file to associate with the XML document.

Note
