This section explains the implementation requirements for the ABAP Social Media Integration (ABAP SMI).

You have set up one of the following:
  • SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP Platform 7.02 SP13 or higher
  • SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP Platform 7.31 SP05 or higher
  • SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP Platform 7.40 SP07
Note We recommend that you always use the latest available support package to benefit from corrections and new functions.
You have set up user interface add-on for SAP NetWeaver 1.0 SPS 13 and implemented all mandatory notes.

Required only for users of SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP platforms lower than 7.40.

SAP NetWeaver 7.4 users note the following:

  • Users of SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP09 and lower: check if your installation includes software component SAP_UI SP11. If not, you have to upgrade to this SP level.
  • For users of SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP10, the functionality provided in this add-on in software component SAP_UI SP11 is included in the SAP NetWeaver base installation.
You have set up SAP Gateway 2.0 SP08 or higher.
  • Required for users of SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP platforms lower than 7.40.
  • Mandatory for sending notifications to SAP Jam.

The SAP Gateway system has to have a 720 kernel patch level of at least 116. For more information, see SAP Note 1650141 Information published on SAP site.
You have set up SAP Jam Enterprise edition. You must have purchased a license for SAP Jam.
Process
  1. Set up an ABAP-based SAP back-end system that supports SAP Jam integration with ABAP SMI.

    For information about how to establish connectivity between the back-end system and SAP Jam, follow the instructions in Connecting to SAP Jam with ABAP SMI.

  2. [Optional]: Configure ABAP SMI to send notifications to SAP Jam.
