Creating Local Providers: BEx Query as Source

Selecting a Query

1. Select a BEx query. If a query contains variables, it can only be selected if a previously created variant is selected. You can create variants directly in Workspace Designer when creating the local provider, in the Query Monitor or in BEx 7.0.

Change Columns

1. The system has analyzed the query. The InfoObjects used in the query are displayed under Type Details. This selects the key figures and characteristics used in the query drilldown. You can also select the free characteristics defined in the query, together with the compounded characteristics of the InfoObjects in the query drilldown.

2. Select the fields that you need.

3. You can overwrite the field names.

4. Choose Continue.

Edit Provider Properties

1. By choosing For Planning, you can make the provider usable for BW Integrated Planning. During the upload, an input-enabled query is automatically created. More information: Using Providers for BW Integrated Planning

2. Choose Upload and Activate Provider.
