In the open dialog, you can open BW objects from different views. You can also store BW objects in different views, search for objects, delete objects, remove objects from different views, and display the properties of the objects.
The Open dialog box contains different views which you can change between using the application toolbar in the left area of the dialog box.
You can use the Find view to search for BW objects.
The History view displays the last 15 objects that you used (user- and system- dependently).
The Favorites view displays your favorite objects in a tree structure.
The Roles view displays your role-based objects in a tree structure.
The InfoAreas view displays all InfoObjects (InfoAreas, InfoCubes, queries, and query views) in a tree structure.
Some of these views are not available for all object types.
In the upper right area of the dialog box, the following single functions are available in the toolbar:
Some of these single functions are not available for all object types. If they are not available, the symbol is grayed out.
As well as being able to call the individual functions from the toolbar, you can call all functions of the Open dialog box from the context menus of objects (secondary mouse button).
In the lower area of the dialog box, you can enter the description or technical name of the objects in the Name field and open it directly. If the description or technical name entered is not unique, a search is triggered and the results list is displayed in the Search view.
