You can use a formula to calculate the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse or you can restrict the key figures using one or more characteristic selections.
Calculated key figures consist of formula definitions containing basic key figures, restricted key figures, or precalculated key figures.
You can also define the calculation of a key figure using a formula under a structure in a query. You can restrict a key figure using a selection under a structure in a query. If the calculation or restriction is to be used in more than one query, you can create reusable calculated or restricted key figures instead of using formulas or selections.
At least one InfoProvider is available in the BW system.
Defining Calculated and Restricted Key Figures
In the BEx Query Designer, define calculated and restricted key figures.

Saving Calculated and Restricted Key Figures
Save the calculated and restricted key figures in the BEx Query Designer.
Using Calculated and Restricted Key Figures
To use the calculated and restricted key figures in various queries, drag them from the InfoProvider screen area of the BEx Query Designer to the required position in the rows or columns.
Deleting Calculated and Restricted Key Figures
If you no longer need a calculated or restricted key figure, select it in the InfoProvider screen area and choose Delete in the context menu.
Before doing this, ensure that no other queries reference the calculated or restricted key figure.
You can check this by choosing Where-Used List in the context menu of the calculated or restricted key figure. In the Where-Used List screen area, the system displays the queries that still reference the calculated or restricted key figure.
Transporting Calculated and Restricted Key Figures
To make the calculated and restricted key figures available in various BI systems, transport them.
If the transport system is activated, a dialog box for specifying a transport request appears when you save the calculated and restricted key figures. Enter the required transport request.
If a fixed standard BEx transport request is specified, the calculated and restricted key figures are automatically written to this request and the transport request dialog box is not displayed.
The technical names of the object types (TLOGO) for these key figures in transport requests are as follows:
