Restricting Data Using Filter ValuesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can restrict the data displayed in a Web application by using filters to specify which subset of data is to be displayed. This allows you to create new, specific views of your data.

Use the input help dialog box for this purpose; you can call the input help dialog box from the analysis grid, the navigation pane, or from a chart or map by choosing Select Filter Value in the context menu. From the filter pane, you can navigate to the input help dialog box by selecting Edit in the dropdown list box for a characteristic or structure.

The input help dialog box lists all the values for the characteristic or structure element of the selected cell. This allows you to select single or multiple contiguous or disparate values.
