Use

You can perform the following functions for data flows:

  • In Data Warehousing Workbench, the context menu allows you to view an object's data flow. From the context menu for the object, you can choose whether to view the data flow downstream, upstream, or in both directions. You can save the data flow you display here as an object (TLOGO object type DMOD).

More information: Displaying the Data Flow for an Object.

  • You can perform top-down modeling of your data flows on the graphical user interface and thus use templates for data flows. SAP data flow templates help you here to implement a layered scalable architecture (LSA). The data flows created here are saved a TLOGO objects of type DMOD.

More information: Graphical Modeling under Creating Data Flows or Data Flow Templates.

  • You can create a simple data flow using a wizard Starting from a file, this allows you for example to create an InfoProvider in just a few steps, including the simple data flow required to load data.

More information: Generating Simple Wizard-Based Data Flows.

  • You can use a wizard to copy the objects from a data flow. This allows you for example to copy a data flow that depends on source system A for source system B or for other source systems.

    More information: Copying Data Flows.

  • If you want to enjoy the benefits of the DataSource (TLOGO object type RSDS) transformation and data transfer process for a data flow with 3.x objects, you can migrate the 3.x data flow.

    More information: Migrating Data Flows.
