Conditional suppression is a filter operation that is similar to hiding nodes with only child. The result rows on an axis (the aggregate of a single value) are hidden. In this case, the single value and the result would be identical. The Analytic Engine calculates the subtotal, checks whether only one child exists and then deletes the total. This function is a characteristic setting. If several characteristics are on the same axis, they are processed one after the other.
In the Characteristic Properties
screen on the Display
tab, you can specify for a specific characteristic how you want to display result rows; always show
, always hide
or display for more than one value
, by using the hierarchy parameter Result Rows
. If you choose display for more than one value
, select a condition total suppression.
This is the default setting for standard queries.
