The Reporting Agent is a tool used to schedule reporting functions in the background.
You can perform the following functions:
Note that you can only use the Reporting Agent if you are working with queries and Web templates in the SAP BW 3.x format.
As of SAP NetWeaver 2004s, the Reporting Agent functions are covered by information broadcasting. We recommend that you use information broadcasting instead of the Reporting Agent.
For more information, seeBEx Broadcaster.
The last two points do not apply to managing bookmarks.
The Reporting Agent interface has the functional areas Exceptions, Print, Web Templates, and Value Sets; each of which is made up of two tree structures.
The left-hand tree provides an overview of the available objects as well as the settings that have already been created. To give you a better overview, in the Exceptions and Print functions, you can filter according to queries with settings.
The right-hand tree provides an overview of the scheduling packages and is used for the administration of background processing.
In the Bookmarks functional area, the Reporting Agent scheduler interfaces are made up of a single tree structure.
The following graphic provides an overview of the different functional areas for the Reporting Agent and its integration:
