Document types standardize the creation of sourcing documents. RFx types enable you to predefine features in RFx documents.

Inactive | Select the checkbox to indicate that this RFx type is not in the list of active types. |
Integrated System Type | Select ERP for document types to be integrated with ERP, or SRM for document types to be integrated with SRM. For systems on which SAP Sourcing is integrated with both SAP ERP and SAP SRM, choose only one. |
Document ID | Type a name for the RFx type. This is a required field. |
Description | Select a description from the dropdown list and edit it as necessary in the text box. |
Order | Type a number to use in ordering the RFx type. This is a required field. |
Numbering Table | Choose the Picker button to select a numbering table to use with this RFx type. |

Require Product Category | Select the checkbox to make the Product Category field required in RFx documents of this type. |
Information Sections | Select the checkbox to create the Information tab in RFx documents of this type. The Information tab displays information sections that provide boilerplate information about your company and the RFx. |
CSV Import Support | Use this option to import and export RFx line items and questions for this type in .CSV format. On selection of this option, the system will disable Microsoft® Excel (.XLS or .XLSX) support and will enable CSV format support. Note that .CSV format is limited in its functionality. For example, .CSV does not provide the extensive formatting and data selection of Microsoft® Excel format, which is recommended. Note You can configure the Microsoft® Excel file extension format in your User Account settings as described in Import/Export Document Data. End of the note. To use Microsoft® Excel format instead of .CSV, keep this option unselected. |
Questions | Select the checkbox to enable questions in RFx documents of this type. |

Supplier-Entered Attributes | Select the checkbox to enable supplier-entered attributes in RFx documents of this type. This setting lets you create attributes for each line item group that is entered by suppliers. |

Allow Multi-Currency | Select the checkbox to allow multiple currencies and to create the Exchange Rates tab in RFx documents of this type. Suppliers will not see the exchange rates if you set the system property hide.alternate.price.in.rfx.and.auction to True. |
Enable RFx Response Duplication | Select the checkbox to allow responses to RFx documents of this type to be duplicated. |
Create Default Line Item Group | Select the checkbox to load a default Line Item Group into line item sections created in RFx documents of this type. |
Default Line Item Group Name | Choose the Picker button to select a name for the default Line Item Group that is created in a new line item section in RFx documents of this type. |

Publish as Public Event | Select the checkbox to publish the RFx in the Upcoming Events channel of the sell-side Workbench. Checking this box will also create the Publish to Supplier checkbox in RFx documents of this type, which gives the RFx creator the option to publish the RFx to the Workbench of all approved suppliers. |

Scoring Type | Select Standard for the RFx owner to perform all question scoring. Select Collaborative to enable the RFx owners to select collaborators as scorers. This value cannot be changed in an RFx of this type. |
Use Private Scoring | Check to prevent collaborative scorers from seeing scores other than their own. This value cannot be changed in an RFx of this type. |
Use Equally Weighted Average For All Scorers | Check to use equal weights for each scorer, rather than setting weights individually. Leave this box unchecked to enable the RFx owner to set individual weights for scorers. This value can be changed in an RFx of this type. |
View RFx Responses Only After Bidding Closes | Check to make RFx responses viewable only after bidding ends. |
Skip Preliminary State on RFx Response | Check to skip the Preliminary state for responses to RFx documents of this type. |
Default Sort for RFx Responses | Select a default sort order for responses to RFx documents of this type. |

Supplier Rank | Select a default supplier rank for RFx documents created from this type. This selection can be changed in the RFx.

Enable e-mail confirmations of Suppliers Intentions to Respond to RFx | Select the checkbox to enable an e-mail notification to be sent to the RFx owner when a supplier confirms the intention to respond to the RFx. |
Enable Supplier Weighting | Select the checkbox to enable the weighting of total cost for each supplier according to factors. |
Notifications | Choose E-mail Notification Settings to specify the e-mail notifications that will be sent for RFx documents of this type. These settings can be edited in the RFx. |

Recommendation
Unless you have customized the columns that are exported when you choose the Export on the RFx Line Items page, it is strongly recommended that you use the default values for these fields.
The Integration tab is visible only when the integrated system type is set to a business system. In other words, this tab does not appear if the integrated system type is set to None.

Item Type | Indicates whether the current line item is a service or a material. |
Condition Class | Describes the price condition type as one of the following:

Condition ID | A unique alphanumeric code that identifies a price condition. |
Name | The name of the price condition. |
Description | Description of the price condition, such as an explanation of the purpose of an RFx price condition to suppliers. |
Condition Applies To | Indicates if a price condition is available on the header level, the item level, or both. |
Business System | Indicates the business system from which the price condition has been replicated. |
Scale Type | Specifies whether the price condition is on a “from” scale, for example on a scale starting from 100 pieces, or on a “to” scale, for example on a scale ending at 100 pieces. |
Scales | A checkbox indicates whether a scale check is performed for the price condition. |
To create an RFx type:
Choose
.On the RFx Type page, choose Create.
On the Creating: RFx Type page, fill in the fields under General Info and those under Features, Rules, and Defaults.
To set up e-mail notifications, choose E-mail Notification Settings.
In the dialog box, select the checkbox for each notification to set up and then choose OK.
Save your entries.
