Extensibility

The extensibility apps for key users help you customize applications and their UIs, reports, email templates, and form templates.

With the Custom Fields and Logic app, you, as a business expert or implementation consultant, can create custom fields and enhancement implementations for specific business contexts. You can make a field available for certain UIs, reports, email templates, and form templates, and use it later on in the respective business context that you've chosen. If you want to enhance a predelivered application with your custom logic, you can create an enhancement implementation with which you can enhance a modifiable application at a designated point. Here again, the enhancement implementation can be used within the scope of a data set of the respective business context that you've chosen. The first step to transport your custom fields and custom logic to your production system is to publish them in this app.

In the Configure Software Packages app, you, as a project manager, can configure software packages and assign them to transport requests and tasks for transporting extension items. Software packages need to be assigned to a transport request and task to be enabled for change recording. Otherwise extension items can't be transported to your production system.

In the Register Extensions for Transport app, you, as a project manager, can assign extension items to software packages that are enabled for change recording. To finally transport extension items to your production system, your administrator needs to release the correspondig transport requests and transport extension items in the backend in transaction Transport Organizer (SE09).
