Setting Up Number Ranges and Authorizations for Pack. Specs You can use this process to specify whether a user can perform the following activities for a packaging specification (PS):
Create and process PS
Assign a packaging specification to a product or a combination of product and supplier
Use PS for automatic packing
You specify the authorizations depending on the PS number ranges. This process describes the procedure for one number range interval. However, you can extend the process to several number range intervals.
You have system administration authorization for the SAP SNC system.
You define the following objects in Customizing for
SCM Basis
under
:
A number range with a number range interval
You define for the number range interval whether you want number assignment for a PS in this number range interval to take place externally (that is, manually by the user) or internally (automatically by the system).
A packaging specification group (PS group) to which you assign the number range interval
The PS group is the object you use to control the access authorization to packaging specifications.
For more information, in the Implementation Guide (IMG) see and Define Packaging Specification Group.
You make the following settings in the role that you want to assign to the user (transaction PFCG):
If the authorization object P_PACKSPEC for packaging specifications is not yet assigned in the role, you assign it to the role.
You enter the packaging specification group in the authorization object.
You specify the authorizations for this packaging specification group. The following table contains the authorizations that a user requires for a specific task:
