Telecommunications Network Management : Use of DataSources from Logistics Application Plant Maintenance

To use the full scope of the SAP NetWeaver BI Business Content for Telecommunications: Network Management, you must make settings in Customizing of SAP ERP and enhancements in the Data Warehouse for specific DataSources of the maintenance order and of the maintenance notifications.

Customizing of the DataSources

The DataSources of the Logistics application Plant Maintenance are used to extract the plant maintenance data for network management.

The following DataSources of the Logistics application 17: Plant Maintenance BW are used:

Maintenance Orders - Operations (2LIS_17_I3OPER)
Maintenance Notifications (2LIS_17_I0NOTIF)
Maintenance Notifications — Causes (2LIS_17_I0CAUSE)

For the telecommunications-specific SAP BI NetWeaver Business Content, additional fields from the maintenance order and notifications which were up to now not transferred into the Data Warehouse are required for the present scope of the DataSources.

Caution Caution

In addition, fields (for example Personnel Number), which up to now are not contained in the Customizing field list for the Logistics Extraction Cockpit, are required. However, the fields are available in Switch Business Configuration Sets (Switch BC Sets). For the additional fields to be available to you in Customizing of the DataSources, you must activate the Business Function Set Telco (TELCO) in the Switch Framework (transaction code SFW5) of SAP ERP.

You make the settings for the DataSources in the Customizing Cockpit for the Logistics Extraction Structures. To do this, in Customizing for SAP ERP, choose Start of the navigation path Integration with Other SAP Components Next navigation step Data Transfer to the SAP Business Information Warehouse Settings for Application-Specific Data Sources (PI) Logistics Managing Extract Structures Logistics Extraction Structures Customizing Cockpit End of the navigation path .

Note that the object number (OBJNR) occurs in different structures for the field list for Customizing of the DataSource Maintenance Orders - Operations (2LIS_17_I3OPER). To use the functions supplied with the Business Content for Network Management, you must use the object number from the field list of the structurePM/CS Order (MCAFIH). The object number can only be adjusted once within the extraction structure generated for the DataSource 17_I3OPER.

To enhance the SAP NetWeaver BI Business Content for Network Management, you must perform the following single steps:

Replicate the enhanced DataSources
Enhance the relevant InfoSources with the missing InfoObjects
Enhance the transformations between DataSources and InfoSources, and between InfoSources and data targets
