ILM StoreLocate this document in the navigation structure

With the ILM Store, you have access to SAP's own store for data retention.

By using the WebDAV interface standard, you can store your archive files using Retention Management for SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) in an SAP database such as SAP IQ or SAP HANA and stay within the SAP environment. By doing so, you can optimize your IT infrastructure and reduce the costs for purchasing and maintenance of external WebDAV interfaces and storage media.
Note If you are already using SAP BW Near Line Storage (NLS) to store BW data, you can also store your BW data on the same SAP IQ database.

The ILM Store fulfills the requirements of specification BC-ILM 3.0 for ILM-compliant storage systems, with which you can store archive files and indexes in a database using the WebDAV interface standard. This includes the transfer of process data (minimum and maximum) and legal holds from SAP ILM Retention Management to the database so that you can control the entire data lifecycle. This supports the entire process within the SAP environment and without using external interfaces.

In conjunction with SAP ILM, the database-supported store for legally-compliant, long-term storage of SAP Business Suite archive files is available. You can use the ILM Store as an alternative to the current ILM-compliant third party WebDAV store.
Note Note that you can still use the store you've used up to now in parallel with the ILM Store. You can access the data on the existing store as usual.
You also have the option of connecting multiple application servers to the ILM Store as WebDAV servers.
