This characteristic contains the CFOP number, a code defined by the Brazilian tax authorities that describes the type of business transaction. It includes information on the good's origin as well as the type of operation, such as sales, returns, or stock transfers. The CFOP number must be printed on all notas fiscais and is included in legal reporting.
