Managing the Content for Units of MeasureLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Your installation of SAP NetWeaver (NW) contains a database with prefilled Unit of Measures content. With it, the Unit of Measures data in SAP NetWeaver is ready to be used in your Web Dynpro applications. Furthermore, you can adjust this content to customize it for your needs, synchronize more content from a back-end database and also export it to another SAP NetWeaver system . For more information about export, see Exporting Content .

All the changes you have made are persisted and available after restarting the system.

Prerequisites

Your user is assigned to the Administrator role.

Procedure

Managing Unit of Measures

This procedure shows how you, add, edit and delete the dimensions and units of measures. This content is language-independent, the default language set for the system is shown.

  1. Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator:

    http://<hostname>:<port>/nwa and navigate to Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Next navigation step Unit of Measure Administration End of the navigation path.

  2. Open the Unit of Measure Maintenance tab page, where you can do the following:

    • Add a dimension and a unit of measure

      1. In the Dimensions table, choose the Add pushbutton.

      2. Fill in the necessary information in the dialog that appears and choose the OK pushbutton. Only the Dimension Code field is mandatory.

      3. Select the dimension and in the Unit of Measure Items of Selected Dimension table, choose the Add pushbutton.

      4. In the dialog that appears, fill in the necessary information and choose the OK pushbutton. Note that the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

    • Edit a unit of measure of a dimension

      1. In the Dimensions table, select a dimension which has unit of measures assigned to it.

      2. In the Unit of Measure Items of Selected Dimension table, select a unit of measure and choose the Edit pushbutton.

      3. In the dialog that appears, you can only edit the Dec. Places Rounding and ISO Code fields.

      4. Choose the OK pushbutton.

    • Delete a unit of measure together with all language-dependent texts related to it

      1. In the Dimensions table, select a dimension which has unit of measures assigned to it.

      2. In the Unit of Measure Items of Selected Dimension table, select a unit of measure.

      3. Choose the Delete pushbutton and confirm the deletion when prompted.

    • Delete a dimension together with all unit of measures assigned to it

      1. In the Dimensions table, select a dimension.

      2. Choose the Delete pushbutton and confirm the deletion when prompted.

      You can sort the table by any column when you click the column heading.

    • Sort the Dimensions and Unit of Measure Items of Selected Dimension tables.

    • Filter the Dimensions table

      1. Choose the Filter button above the table.

      2. In the filter line that appears in the table, specify the filter criterion in the respective column and press ENTER

In the Audit Data of Selected Dimension and Unit of Measure section, you can find information when and who has made the changes to a given item.

Managing Languages for Unit of Measures

This procedure shows how you add, edit and delete different languages for the dimensions. You can add a given language for a specific dimension only once.

  1. Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator:

    http://<hostname>:<port>/nwa and navigate to Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Next navigation step Unit of Measure Administration End of the navigation path.

  2. Open the Language Administration tab page, where you can do the following:

    • Add a language

      1. In the Dimension-Language Combination table, select a dimension and choose the Add pushbutton. .

      2. Fill in the necessary information in the dialog that appears and choose the OK pushbutton. Only the Language field is mandatory.

    • Edit a language

      1. In the Dimension-Language Combination table, select a dimension and choose the Edit pushbutton.

      2. In the dialog that appears, edit the desired fields and choose the OK pushbutton.

    • Delete a language together with all language-dependent texts

      1. In the Dimension-Language Combination table, select a dimension.

      2. Choose the Delete pushbutton and confirm the language deletion when prompted.

    • Sort the Dimension-Language Combination table

      You can sort the table by any column when you click the column heading.

    • Filter the Dimension-Language Combination table

      1. Choose the Filter button above the Dimension-Language Combination table.

      2. In the filter line that appears in the table, specify the filter criterion in the respective column and press ENTER.

In the Audit Data of Selected Dimension and Unit of Measure section, you can find information when and who has made changes to a given item.
