Deleting a Printer Group

You can directly delete a printer group which is not distributed to a target system group.

If you want to delete a printer group which is distributed to a target system group, you must dissolve the distribution first.

Procedure

Deleting a Printer Group

To delete a printer group which is not distributed to a target system group, select the printer group in the PAL object list and click Delete.

Note Note

This action will only delete the printer group. The printers which were members of the deleted printer group will not be deleted but can subsequently be used in other printer groups.

You can display the content of the printer group by expanding the entry in the PAL object list.

Deleting a Printer Group from a Target System Group

If the printer group is distributed, you must dissolve the distribution first, otherwise you will get the following error message: Printer Group "<NAME>" still in use.

Select the printer Group; click Start of the navigation path Delete Next navigation step Delete Printer Group from Target System Group End of the navigation path .

Select the target system group and click OK. The Distribution Status dialog box appears which shows the following message:

Printers in “<NAME>” deleted from all selected Target System Group(s).

Afterwards, you can delete the printer group as described above.
