Creating a Promotion You use this process to create promotion(s) for specific location/products. You can create multiple promotions for one location/product, and one promotion can have multiple location/products.
You have created a
promotion profile
and
promotion parameters
for the location/product.
Within the SNC browser, choose
Promotions
→
Create Promotion
. The screen is divided into four sections:
Selection
Selection List
Promotion Items
Promotion Data
You use the
Selection
area to find location/product(s) for which you want to plan a promotion. The following selection criteria are available to help you find the location/product(s) that you want:
Ship-To Location
Product
SNC Planner

You can further refine your search by using
Advanced Selection.
Once you have entered your search criteria, choose
Go
.
The system finds the appropriate location/product(s) and displays them in the
Selection List
.
You choose the items that you want by selecting the appropriate checkbox in the leftmost column, and then choosing the
Select
button.
The system copies the items that you selected in the
Selection List
into
Promotion Items.
Optionally, you can manually add more location/products by using
Insert Line
.
You enter the total promotion quantity or percentage of baseline quantity for each item. If you enter both
total
and
percentage
, the
percentage
overrides the
total
. In the latter case, the system calculates the promotion total by multiplying the baseline forecast by the percentage you enter.

The four dates--
First Arrival at DC, End Arrival at DC, First ship to stores,
and
End ship to stores--
define the dates on which you deliver product to the customer’s distribution center and the time period over which you deliver product to the customer’s stores.
You must specify at leastoneof these dates. The other dates can be calculated using the offset profile assigned to the location / product. For more information, see
