  Creating a Promotion From an XML Draft

Use

This function allows you create a promotion from a draft promotion. The system automatically creates a draft promotion if the customer tries to create a promotion using an XML message that contains errors (for example, no promotion parameters are assigned to the location/product).

The Alert Monitor informs you that the customer has sent an XML promotion. It lists the promotion name and states whether it was successful. If the XML promotion is unsuccessful, the system creates a draft promotion. This saves you from having to request another XML promotion from your customer or from having to create a new promotion from scratch.

Prerequisites

The customer has sent you an XML promotion that contains errors, and the system has created a draft promotion from the XML data.

Note Note

The reason a promotion could not be created is displayed with the alert. Some errors should be corrected (for example, no promotion parameters), before you go to XML Draft Promotion to create a promotion.

Activities

You should check your alerts at least daily.

  1. In the SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) Web UI, choose Start of the navigation path Exceptions Next navigation step Alert Monitor End of the navigation path .

  2. The system alerts you that your customer has sent promotion data. It tells you whether the promotion is successful or draft. If the promotion is draft, the system notes the reason for the error.

  3. If the promotion is a draft, you have two choices:

    • Ask your customer to send a new, corrected promotion via XML

    • Update the draft promotion, turning it into a real promotion, using correct data that you get from your customer.

      You can change the location and product.

  4. To access the draft promotion and make your corrections, choose Start of the navigation path Demand Next navigation step Promotions Next navigation step XML Draft Promotion End of the navigation path .

  5. Enter the promotion ID and choose Go.

  6. Under Promotion Item , enter the appropriate data.

    You may also select the alert in the Alert Monitor and choose See Detail to navigate directly to XML Draft Promotion from the Alert Monitor.

  7. Choose Save Promotion .

    The system turns the draft promotion into a real promotion if all the data is correct.

    You can delete draft promotions on the XML Draft Promotion screen by choosing Delete Draft .
