A target system group (TSG) is a set of target systems to which one or more printers groups will be distributed. Printers cannot be distributed to target systems directly.

You can

  • Create empty target system groups and add members later

  • Add members directly when creating the target system group

  • Remove members from a target system group as described in section Changing a Target System Group below.

You cannot add a target system to more than one target system group.

Procedure

Process

  1. Create Target System Group In the PAL object list, select Target System Group from the dropdown menu.

  2. Choose Create. Dialog box Create Target System Group appears.

  3. Enter a name and description of the target system group.

    • If you want to create an empty target system group, click OK. A subscreen appears with two tab pages. To save the empty target system group, click Save on the Details tab page.

    • If you want to add target systems immediately, select the target system from the list in the dialog box containing all target systems that were defined in the central system before. You can also use the filter function to search for special target systems. To select more than one target system, press SHIFT while clicking on the target systems in the list.

    • When you have added the target systems, click OK. Choose the Members tab page on the subscreen to check if the target systems have been added correctly. Afterwards, choose the Details tab page and click Save.

Adding a Target System to a Target System Group

If you want to add target systems to an existing target system group, choose the target system group from the PAL object list and select the Members tab strip, and click Add. Proceed as described in above.

Removing a Target System from a Target System Group

If you want to remove target systems from a target system group, choose the target system group from the PAL object list and select the Members tab strip. Choose the systems and click Remove. You will receive the following message:

Selected target system(s) will be removed from "<NAME>". Do you want to proceed?

Choose Yes and Save.

Result

Target system(s) are removed from target system group "<ID>”. Updates in target systems will take place with the next distribution.
