Use

In CAF, classification assignments are presented as hierarchical structures. SAP BW uses a similar structure: the hierarchy. As a result, there is natural desire to export CAF classifications into SAP BW hierarchies.

With the classifications administrator tool of the CAF Runtime Configurator, you can export classifications as two CSV files and then import these two files into SAP BW.

Procedure

 

       1.      Launch the Classification Assignment tool at http://<host>:<port>/caf → Administrative Tools →Classification Administration.

Note

Remember to replace hostand portwith the name of the machine you are using.

       2.      In the Import/Export tab page, select the categories you want to export from the table.

       3.      Define the target InfoObject, and choose BW Export.

Export Download becomes activated.

Note

The InfoObject name should be the same as the one you defined when creating an InfoObject in SAP BW.

       4.      Choose Export to save the zip archive containing the following two files:

○       hierarchy.csv(defines data relations)

○       data.csv: (defines data for different locales)

Result

Your files are ready to be imported into SAP BW hierarchies.
