This InfoCube represents a reference cube that reads the actual and planned data for a certain product, product category, and account hierarchy node combination. This data in the live rates InfoCube is used to plan the rates based on the planned volume and revenue, to update the calculated promotional budgets based on the actual volume and revenue, and to post the budget into the corresponding funds.

In order to make the link between the Live Rates and Live Rates — Actuals InfoCubes, both contain almost the same characteristics with the difference that the reference cube(Live Rates – Actuals) contains volume and revenue information on the product, product category, and account hierarchy node combinations while the Live Rates InfoCube associates the data (rates and budget) to the live rates planning element.

The reference numbers of the actual revenue, actual volume, planned revenue, and planned volume are read using a standard technique in the enhanced layout customization (UPX_MNTN). The corresponding key figures in the displayed layouts are assigned to the function module UPX_KPI_KF_PLEVEL_READ2 which reads the values on-the-fly when the layouts are displayed.
