Object documentationAppointment

An agreement between a customer and a supplier that determines how many TLB shipments the supplier is allowed to send to the customer location on a certain weekday or at a certain time of a weekday.

An appointment reflects that the customer location can process only a restricted number of TLB shipments on a particular weekday or at a particular time. The following alternative options are available:

  • For a particular weekday, the customer allows a maximum number of TLB shipments, without specifying exact arrival times. The TLB shipments are allowed to arrive at any time on that weekday.

  • For a particular weekday, the customer determines one or several arrival times. Under this option, TLB shipments are only allowed to arrive at the expected arrival times. TLB shipments must not arrive earlier or later. For each arrival time, the customer determines the maximum number of TLB shipments that are allowed to arrive at that time.

The Transport Load Builder (TLB) checks whether the TLB shipments created for a particular day violate the appointments defined for that day. To do so, the TLB checks the number of TLB shipments and the delivery date/times of the TLB shipments. A TLB shipment violates appointments if one of the following applies:

  • The delivery date/time of a TLB shipment is earlier or later than the allowed arrival time.

  • The number of TLB shipments exceeds the allowed maximum number of TLB shipments.

The system draws attention to TLB shipments that violate appointments as follows:

  • It highlights TLB shipments on the TLB Shipments screen.

  • It creates a message in the application log.

  • When running the TLB in the Planning Service Manager, the system creates an alert (alert type 7404, TLB Alert for Location Planner) with a corresponding warning message.

Note Note

The TLB only considers appointments if the example implementation /SCA/VTLB_ADAP_EX of the Business Add-In /SCA/VTLB_ADAPT_EXT is active.

End of the note.
