Procedure documentation Importing RFC Modules as External Services  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Service Explorer, expand the Application Services node and choose External Services.

       2.      With the secondary mouse button, choose Import.

The Import External Services Import wizard appears.

       3.      Select RFC (ABAP) service type and choose Next.

       4.      Select the SAP server you want to connect to.

       5.      Enter relevant server logon information:

For Single Server:

Field

Host Name

Address of the target system host

System Number

System service ID number

SAP Router

Address of the SAP router

SAP Router Port

SAP router port

For Load Balancing:

Message Server

Address of the message server

System Name

System name (usually matches the name selected in System field)

Group

Group type (default value: PUBLIC)

SAP Router

Address of the SAP router (usually a read-only field)

 

       6.      Enter relevant user logon information:

Preferred language (default value: EN)

       7.      Choose Next and wait until the connection is established.

A wizard for importing RFCs appears.

Note

To retrieve a list of all functions, leave the Function Name and Function Group fields empty, then choose Search.

       8.      Select the RFC modules that need to be a part of the proxy class.

For easier navigation, you can use the following features:

     To reload the list from the database, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Refresh.

     To see the working set with the modules you have already chosen, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Show Working Set.

     To switch between flat and application component hierarchy views, choose either This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Show Flat List or This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Show Component Hierarchy.

     To filter by function name or group, enter the relevant data in the Function Name and Function Group fields.

       9.      Choose Finish and wait until the modules are imported.

The imported RFC modules appear under the External Services node in Service Explorer.
