Indexing BW data for SAP BusinessObjects Explorer (new) With the SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, you can display high performance data of an SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator index (short form: BWA index). If you want to analyze data from BW InfoProviders in this way, you first need to create a BWA index version (enhanced by special data and metadata) in the BW system. You can create a BWA index (suitable for display in the SAP BusinessObjects Explorer) for the following types of BW InfoProviders: InfoCube, MultiProvider, Query. |
For more information on the architecture and functional scope, see Indexing BW data for SAP BusinessObjects Explorer. For more information on this procedure, see Releasing BW Objects for SAP BusinessObjects Explorer. |
Planning function: Forecast (enhanced documentation) The aggregation level, with the context in which you create a forecast planning function, must have at least one time characteristic (for example, fiscal year/period). The forecast only works with one time characteristic. Only values of this characteristic are changed. The other characteristics and, in particular, redundant time characteristics are not adjusted by the forecast function. The documentation has been enhanced to cover this topic. |
Forecast (Section Prerequisites) |
OLAP Cache (enhanced) The program RSR_CACHE_RSRV_CHECK_ENTRIES identifies and deletes obsolete entries in the cache. We recommend that you regularly schedule the program to be processed in the background (for example, one per week during the night). |
For more information, see Cache Displacement and Swapping(Section Further Recommendations). |

Xcelsius Integration (New) You can use BEx Queries or Query Views as data sources for visualizations (dashboards) that you create using SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise. You open the Queries and Query Views with the BEx Open Dialog in Xcelsius. In the Data Manager, the area of Xcelsius that organizes data connections, there is a new connection: SAP NetWeaver BI connection. It is possible to create a visualization (Dashboard) with multiple SAP NetWeaver BI connections from a BI system. The visualizations are saved using the BEx Save Dialog on the BI server and can be transported and translated like BI objects. Navigation in the data is reduced to filters and variables. Unlike the analysis table in the BEx Web Applications, the table in the visualization is static. Effects on system administration: You can transport the dashboards as TLOGO objects in the ABAP system landscape. |
