In the Category Management process, external data is needed for each of the individual analysis levels of a category. This data is principally needed so that the retailer’s success can be analyzed in comparison with competitors and the market as a whole. This data is supplied by external data providers in processed form. For Category Management, these providers must encode and aggregate products in line with the CDT hierarchy.

The basis for this is data that the data suppliers receive from the retailers (retail panel) or from consumer samples. To make it more readily accessible, data from both of these sources is put into different InfoCubes.

The InfoCube 0CMCP_C08 contains plan data from the retail panel of the external data provider.
