Procedure documentationCollecting Measurement Data in the Component System Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can either collect the measurement results directly in each component system and

  • Save it in a local file, which you load from the central system (see Loading System Data from a File)

  • Send the data to the central system by Remote Function Call

Alternatively, you can perform only the first two steps of this procedure, and then start the report not directly in the component system, but rather from the central system (see Starting Remote Actions in the Component System).

Procedure

  1. Start report RSLAW_PLUGIN by choosing   System Measurement   Export to LAW File   or start the corresponding report that you have created (using transaction SA38).

  2. To transfer the data by Remote Function Call (RFC), you must first maintain the RFC destination of the LAW central system. To do this, select Maintain RFC Destination for LAW Central System, and choose Execute.

A dialog window on which you enter the name of the RFC destination appears.

  3. Choose the type of the data transfer and then Execute. You have the following options:

    • By download to a file

Save the measurement data to a local file, which you specify in the following dialog box.

    • By E-mail to an address

Allows you to send the measurement data to one or more e-mail addresses, if the system is connected to an e-mail server.

    • By RFC to the LAW central system

Sends the measurement data to the central system. You can choose whether you send the data by RFC or qRFC.

    • By function module

Allows you to specify your own function module for postprocessing the measurement data. For more information, see the documentation in the program RSLAW_PLUGIN (I button).

    • Schedule a background job for license measurement and to transfer the data to the LAW.

Result

You have collected the license-relevant data from the component system and can perform the next step, which depends on which option you have chosen:
