Use

In SAP NetWeaver SPS 9, the following changes and enhancements are available in the data transfer process (DTP):

Dialog Box for Creating Data Transfer Processes

In the dialog box for creating a data transfer process, the input help for the source or target object shows the selection of objects that are available for that object. An additional List pushbutton is now available. This allows you to select an object from the complete list of BI objects.

Data Transfer Process Maintenance

You specify semantic groups for packaging the data in the source on the Extraction tab page instead of the Update tab page.

On the Extraction tab page, the  icon next to pushbutton  Filter indicates that predefined selections exist for the data transfer process. The tooltip for this icon displays the selections as a character string.

Data Transfer Process in Process Chain Maintenance

In variant selection for the data transfer process, you can enter the name directly, without using input help.

Data Transfer Process Monitor

On the Header tab page, you can choose Transformation to jump straight to the transformation.

On the Detail tab page, the system displays a short text for incorrect records if errors occur. In the context menu or in the Messages column (choose ), you can call the messages for the incorrect records.

Data Transfer Process for Direct Access

You can use an InfoCube or a DataStore object as the source of a data transfer process.
