Use

If you have implemented a federated portal, users of the portal receive search results from all producer portals when they create a single search query.

The search results are displayed on several tab pages. The first tab page contains the list of search results for the current portal. A separate tab page is displayed for each producer portal. The tab page for a producer portal displays the same results list as you would see if you were to run a standard search in this portal.

Effects on Customizing

Prerequisite: you have implemented a federated portal.

A new, preconfigured set of search components entitled FederatedSearch has been delivered in the KM configuration. In the consumer portal, you must select this set of search components in the configuration of the standard search dialog.
