Procedure documentationImporting External Services at Runtime  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

       1.      Open the Service Registry at http://<host>:<port>/caf Administrative tools External Service Configuration.

       2.      Choose Import New Service.

       3.      Select the service type (RFC or WS) you want to configure and depending on your choice, follow the instruction below:

Service Type:  SAP Remote Function Call

                            a.      In Mode of Remote Function Call, select a value from the drop-down list:

      RFC destinations via SLD – to import a service from the System Landscape Directory of SAP NetWeaver. For more information, see System Landscape Directory.

      Self-defined RFC destinations – to import a service by entering full information about it.

      RFC destinations via endpoint – to import one of the previous service types using an endpoint.

                            b.      Enter the data as described in the tables below, depending on your choice (RFC or WS):

Service Configuration: RFC Destinations via SLD

Connection mode

Select the logon type:

     Server Logon

     Group Logon

System-ID

Only available with Group Logon. Enter your system identification.

Client

Enter the client ID number.

Only available with Group Logon. Enter the message server name.

Logon group

Only available with Group Logon. Enter a logon group.

mandatory

Application Server

Only available with Server Logon. Enter the system number.

System Number

Only available with Server Logon. Enter the system number.

Language

Indicates the interface language. Options are English and German.

Use Single Sign-On

If selected, choose the SSO type (X.506 client certificate or SAP Logon ticket) and SNC mode.

User name

Enter your username if not using SSO.

Password

Enter your password if not using SSO.

Security Network Communication Mode

Choose to activate or deactivate the SNC mode.

mandatory

Partner Name of SNC

Available only with SNC. Enter the name of the SNC-enabled communication partner.

Level of Security of SNC

Available only with SNC. Choose the SNC security level.

Note

Higher values provide better security.

Service Configuration:  RFC Destinations via Endpoint

Name of endpoint

Enter the name of the endpoint.

Name of used endpoint type

Drop-down menu contains the options: Endpoint type self-defined RFC and Endpoint type RFC using SLD.

Function name

Enter a function name to be imported.

Service Type: Web Service (WS)

Field Name

WSDL Description

Enter the URL where the WSDL description is located.

Use Proxy Server

Activate to enables proxy server use.

Proxy Server

Available only if Use Proxy Server is activated. Here you enter the address of the proxy server.

       4.      Choose Next.

A list of the available external service operations opens. For each service operation (method) you can specify different configuration for connecting. To do this, select the operation and enter the relevant data in the Method Configuration pane.

       5.      Choose Import.
