Background documentation Status Administration of Task Lists for Projects  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

When you navigate into a task list, the system displays the task list in a version of the Schedule Manager that has been adapted to the requirements of Change Request Management. In addition to all Schedule Manager functions, there is a status administration function available to you.

The status administration of the task list is almost the same as the status administration of the Schedule Manager and is documented in the Schedule Manager (Help Application Help). Additionally, the status of the tasks in the daily overview or in the monitor is transferred to the task list. In the task list, the status of the tasks is initially Locked or Unlocked, depending on the status of the task group. As soon as a task has been executed, its status is changed to the status of the (last) execution. If, for example, you start a task that returns the status Contains Errors, you then see this status in the daily overview, in the monitor, and in the task list. If, subsequently, you start the task again, but the task returns the status Warning, you see this status for the newly scheduled items in the daily overview, in the monitor, and in the task list. The former Contains Errors status in the task list has now changed to Warning, while the status of the previous execution remains unchanged in the daily overview and in the monitor.

The status in the task list refers to the last execution of the corresponding task. You can still manually set the status (by using the secondary mouse button), and display the status history. The status history in the task list refers to the last execution of the corresponding task. If you want to see additional information apart from the status history of all previous executions, you have to look in the daily overview or in the monitor.

Apart from the tasks, also the task groups and the task list have a status. Task groups are either locked or unlocked. The tasks initially have the same status as the task group to which they belong. Tasks can only be executed if the status of all task groups higher in the hierarchy is Unlocked. The status of the entire task list, which is the highest node in the task list display, can be Initial, Locked, Active, or Completed. Tasks that belong to a task list can only be executed if the task list is active. If the status of the task list is Completed, it can no longer be changed or activated, an tasks in this task list can no longer be executed. All tasks that have never been executed now receive the status Skipped.
