Procedure documentation Planning to Update Support Packages  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

The application components whose support package stack you want to update are registered in the SLD. The application components are installed and maintained using the SLM.

If you want to update the support package stack of other application components, create a plan to deploy the application components. For more information, see Planning to Deploy Application Components.

Procedure

       1.      Choose Maintenance Plan Landscape. There are two possibilities:

¡        To create a new plan not based on an existing plan, choose Create New Plan.

¡        To create a new plan based on an existing plan, in the Plan Browser frame, select the plan and choose Create New.

In the Plan Browser frame you see the parent plans that have been created. Browse the selection tree to view the child plans. You may select any plan in state PLANNING COMPLETED as a parent plan of your new plan.

The Create New Plan dialog box appears.

       2.      Specify the plan details and choose Start Wizard.

The Systems and Realized Scenarios tabs appear.

       3.      There are two possibilities:

¡        If you want to update the support packages of application components installed on a particular system, choose the Systems tab, browse the selection tree, select a system and choose Add >>.

¡        If you want to update the support packages of application components installed as part of a particular realized scenario, choose the Realized Scenarios tab, browse the selection tree, select a realized scenario and choose Add >>.

In the Selected Installed Application Components frame, you can see the following details about the selected application components: system on which they are installed, current support package stack, and status of the support package stack. Possible statuses of the support package stack are: OUT OF DATE, NO STACK AVAILABLE, and LATEST STACK.

       4.      If there are installed application components with the status of the support package stack NO STACK AVAILABLE and LATEST STACK, select them and choose << Remove.

       5.      Choose Next.

The Products of Selected Software frame appears.

       6.      Select a support package stack for which you want to update each product. For more information, see Selecting Support Packages.
