Variant-Specific Configuration 

In the scenario variant Combining Embedded and Unbounded Processes, you always use embedded and unbounded processes. This means that you need to do the configuration for both embedded and unbounded processes.

In the scenario variants Usage and Adaptation of Predefined Content and Process Automation, you can use either only embedded processes, only unbounded processes, or both. So depending on which type of processes you use, you need to do the configuration for embedded processes only, for unbounded processes only, or for both.

If you use embedded processes in a variant, you need to configure the SAP Business Workflow.

·        Customizing for Tasks and Workflows

If you use unbounded processes in a variant, you need to configure the Business Process Engine.
