Defining the Availability Metric for SAP Mobile Platform Servers

Define the availability metric for the template.

1. From SAP Solution Manager, open SAP Solution Manager Configuration Workcenter, and select  Create  Metric .
2. In the Metric Creation wizard, select the Overview tab, and define the metrics for the selected service. Repeat this step for each service.

3. Select the Data Collection tab, and enter the parameters for the selected service. Repeat this step for each service.

4. Click Next to proceed. Enter a name for the metric, making sure it starts with “Z”. If you do not provide a name, you see a message similar to Technical name not specified.

   This enables alerts to appear for the Assignments. Select Finish for now.

5. Repeat steps 2 - 4 for each service (Admin Service, Agentry Service, Notification Service, and Proxy Service), using the appropriate values from the tables.
6. Click Save.
7. Next maintain the text thresholds as shown in the table for the four metrics as shown below. Use Add Entry to create two thresholds for the Availability check. Save after entering your changes.

8. In much the same way as you created the metrics, create an alert that is assigned to all four metrics.
   1. In the Customer Alert Creation wizard, select Overview, create an alert.

      

   2. Click Others to view.

      

   3. Click Next, and confirm that all four services (Admin Service, Agentry Service, Notification Service, and Proxy Service) appear.

      

   4. Click Finish.
   5. Select  Alerts  Overview , and review or modify the entries.

      

9. Save the alert definition.
