Component documentationPrerequisites for the Configuration

In the SAP Solution Manager Configuration applications, you configure SAP Solution Manager immediately after an installation, upgrade, or import of a support package.

Prerequisites
  • SAP Solution Manager and the license key are installed.

  • Transport Management System (TMS) has been configured.

  • You have started the load generator (transaction SGEN) for the following components to increase the performance of your systems:

    • ST

    • SAP_BASIS

    • SAP_ABA

  • You have a dialog user that is authorized for the configuration (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP).

  • You have checked the security guides at Start of the navigation path http://service.sap.com/instguidesInformation published on SAP site Next navigation step SAP Components Next navigation step SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Next navigation step Operation End of the navigation path.

When you log on to SAP Solution Manager Configuration for the first time

Use the DDIC or SAP* user, or a user with the SAP_ALL profile.

When you select a scenario, the system proposes creating users (dialog or reference users) that have the required authorizations to proceed. (Do not proceed with the configuration with an anonymous user, such as DDIC users.) You then log off and proceed with the created configuration user.

What you can do later, as a user administrator in the system
  • Create or edit one or several configuration users to perform the different scenarios:

    • To perform mass user creation or role updates for users, you can use Configuration User Management (under Related Links).

    • To create one or more end users, select the scenario for which you want to authorize the users, and choose the Create New User activity in the displayed popup.

    Note Note

Reference users are helpful if the named users are authorized to edit only one scenario; a named user can only inherit the authorizations of one reference user.

    End of the note.
  • To configure scenarios, grant yourself the authorization to edit the scenario (on demand) by choosing the Update User Roles action in the displayed popup.
