SAP Solution Manager provides the Business Process Monitoring (BPMon) work center, a central point of access to all functions for supporting the operations of your business processes, including the relevant monitoring and reporting functions.
The monitoring and alerting functions in the work center are based on the Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (MAI). In addition to the Alert Inbox

Only managed systems can be monitored that have SAP Basis 7.0 or higher.

When upgrading to SAP Solution Manager 7.2 and when activating solution documentation content (which replaces Solution Directory and the SOLAR functions) the business process monitoring objects are automatically migrated. If you had been on the classic BPMon infrastructure before, the objects are migrated to MAI-based Business Process Monitoring during migration. Your monitoring objects are assigned to the newly introduced Business Process Operations areas (Throughput and Backlog
