Object documentationDashboard Builder – Application Operations Dashboards

The dashboards for the Operations category in the Dashboard Builder provide a quick overview of the availability and performance of your managed systems. The performance and availability values of the managed systems, from technical monitoring, and the corresponding values of the monitored technical scenarios, from User Experience Monitoring (UXMon), are output. So you see the status from the perspectives of the backend, and of the user.

The dashboard answers the question, “Are my technical systems and scenarios available and performing well?”

SAP delivers the following dashboards in the Operations category:

  • Availability Overview

In the tiles of this dashboard, you can display the availability of managed systems during a selected interval. As well as the availability values of the individual managed ABAP and Java systems, a mean value is calculated, based on which a pie chart is output that displays the average availability of your managed systems.

  • Performance Overview

In the tiles of this dashboard, you can display the performance of managed systems during a selected interval. The status of the dialog service is determined for each managed system. A status exists for each point in time, and the percentage distribution of this status through time is displayed for each system. In the same way as for the availability, a mean value is also output.

  • User Experience Overview

This dashboard outputs the performance and availability of the technical scenarios, robots, locations, or scripts.

Calling the Dashboards

Start the Dashboard Builder in SAP Solution Manager Launchpad, as described in Dashboard Builder. In the navigation panel, choose the Operations category and call the required dashboard.

Integration

To be able to use the dashboards for application operations, you need to have User Experience Monitoring and System Monitoring set up.

Initially, your data is displayed on the tiles of these dashboards without a filter, that is, for all periods and systems or scenarios for which data is stored. In most cases, however, you will want to configure the tiles according to your requirements before using them, for example, by setting appropriate filters for the required systems and periods. For further information, see the documentation for each dashboard.
