Function documentationTester Worklist

The Tester Worklist view of the Test Management work center contains an overview of all test packages that have been assigned to the logged on user.

Three queries are available under My Packages:

  • Released: Shows the test packages to which you are assigned, and for which the release status of the test plan allows the execution.

  • Assigned: Shows the test packages to which you are assigned, regardless of the current test plan status.

  • Protected: Shows the test packages to which you are assigned, and for which the test plan release status does not allow the execution.

Note that if the assignment to a test package is currently locked, the test package is not visible for the assigned tester. It appears again when the test organizer releases the locked assignment. This feature can be used, for example, to temporarily stop the execution of tests or to block only one tester, without locking the execution of the whole test plan.

Prerequisites

There are test packages that have been assigned to the logged on user for testing.

If you have the test organizer role, you can view all test packages (in the Test Plan Management view), but you do not have access to the tester worklist. For more information, see Assigning Testers.

Features

You have the following option:

  • Selecting a test package, to display the test cases in the Details area, which you can execute by choosing Run.

  • Navigating to the attachments of a test package, for information on the testing process.

  • Performing automatic tests, for the whole test package (choose Automatic Test):

    • Scheduling automatic tests in the foreground or background

    • Selecting automatic tests for direct execution.

  • Navigate to the job overview to see all jobs that are scheduled to execute automatic tests (choose Go to).

  • Export list of test packages to an MS Excel spreadsheet (choose Export).

At the bottom of the view, the test cases that are assigned to the selected test package are displayed. You can do the following:

  • Run a test: Depending on the test case type, you either start the execution of a manual test case (relevant for test documents and executables), or open the UI with start options for an automatic test.

  • Change the status of a test case.

  • Create a defect or assigning an existing one.

  • Create a note or manage the existing one. Notes can be created, from several sources:

    • From a template, if a template for notes and test results has been defined for the document type that is assigned to the test plan.

    • From a test document, if the selected test case is a test document.

    • By upload, you can select any local document and upload it as note.

  • Open the test case by clicking its ID. Depending on the test case type, you do the following:

    • Open the test document in display mode

    • Open test composition environment for an automatic test

    • Open an executable in the target system

In the lower part of the screen, you can see the attributes of the selected test case, and the list of assigned defects. From the list, you can unassign defects if needed. The defect itself will not be deleted by this.

The Execution Status is tester specific: The one which appears in the list of test cases is set by the current tester.

The Overall Status is evaluated based on aggregation rules, according to all statuses set by the testers assigned to the same test package. The rules are defined in the customizing for SAP Solution Manager (transaction SPRO): Start of the navigation path Test Management Next navigation step Test Management with SAP Solution Manager Next navigation step Preparation Next navigation step Setup Next navigation step Central Test Workbench Settings Next navigation step Customize Test Plan Evaluation End of the navigation path.

Notes depend on the test case and test package: All testers who are assigned to the test package can access and edit the same document.

Test results and defects depend on the tester: Every tester assigns his own defects and documents the results of his own test.

The figures in the list of test packages are related to overall results, while the figures on the test case level (except for the overall status and change information) are related to the tester himself.
