Object documentationApplication Operations Dashboard – Availability Overview

The dashboards for the Operations category in the Dashboard Builder provide a quick overview of the availability and performance of your managed systems.

One such dashboard is the availability overview, which displays the availability of managed systems during selected intervals in three tiles. When configuring these tiles, you can adjust both the reference period for the availability values and the systems whose availability is to be displayed according to your requirements. The Integration section below tells you how to perform the configuration.

The data for this dashboard comes from System Monitoring reporting (see Technical Information about System & Application Monitoring Reporting ). The availability can have the following values in the dashboard:

  • Available

  • Not available during a planned downtime (the periods for planned downtimes are taken from Managing Work Modes)

  • Not available (unplanned)

  • No availability information available. Availability undefined

The following tiles exist in the dashboard:

  • ABAP system availability, which displays the availability of the selected ABAP systems in a stacked bar chart. The tile also includes two drill-down views, which show the HTTP availability of the ABAP message server and the RFC availability, broken down by date.

  • JAVA system availability, which displays the availability of the selected Java systems in a stacked bar chart. The tile contains a generic analytics application as a detailed view, with which you can specify the values to be displayed in the rows, columns, and drilldowns and which filters are to be set.

  • Availability overview, in which a mean value is calculated from the values mentioned above and, based on these availability values, a pie chart is output, which provides an impression of the average availability of your managed systems at a glance.

Note Note

Choose the KPI pushbutton to display more detailed information about the KPIs displayed.

End of the note.

The dashboard is displayed in the Application Operations Dashboards in the Dashboard Builder.

Integration

The tiles delivered are to be seen as templates that you can configure to suit your requirements. You perform this configuration at tile level as follows:

  1. Call the tile and choose the configuration pushbutton.

  2. By default, the availability values for all systems and times for which values exist in BW are displayed. Create two filters:

    • To set a filter for the systems whose availability values are to be displayed, open the context menu of the System ID field, choose Start of the navigation path Filter Next navigation step Select Filter Value End of the navigation path and select the required systems.

    • To set a filter for the period for which the availability values are to be displayed, you can choose between a number of different date fields for which you set a filter as described above. These are based on the required granularity Calendar Day (for daily values), Calendar Year/Week (for weekly values), or Calendar Year/Month (for monthly values).

  3. Save your settings.
