You can release transport requests at transport level, change level, or scenario level. If you select a change, all transport requests within this change are released. At scenario level, all transport requests within all changes are released.

Prerequisites

You have created changes. For more information, see Creating Changes.

Procedure

Creating a Transport Request
  1. On the changes and transports screen, select a change and choose Start of the navigation path Actions... Next navigation step Create Transport Requests End of the navigation path.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, specify whether you want to create a workbench request, a Customizing request, or both.

  3. Select the source system.

  4. Recommendation Recommendation

    The description field contains the scenario name and the change number by default. Do not overwrite these.

    End of the recommendation.

    Change the description as required.

  5. Change the owner if necessary.

  6. Assign additional users (developers) if necessary.

  7. Choose OK to create the transport request.

Your transport request is now listed in the transport requests table.

Releasing a Transport Request
  1. Determine the transport requests that you want to release:

    If your scenario is cCTS-enabled, you cannot release individual transport requests. Instead, you must release the transport requests collectively at change or scenario level.

    • To release a specific transport request, select the transport request from the table and choose Start of the navigation path Actions... Next navigation step Release Transport Request End of the navigation path.

    • To release transport requests associated with a specific change, select the change from the table and choose Start of the navigation path Actions... Next navigation step Release Transport Requests End of the navigation path.

    • To release transport requests associated with all changes in the change table, choose Start of the navigation path Scenario Transport Next navigation step Release Transport Requests End of the navigation path in the header area.

    If you choose to release transport requests from change or scenario level, you can select specific transport requests in the Release Transport Requests dialog box. All of the transport requests associated with a change are selected by default.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, select the transport requests that you want to release and choose Release.

You can view the current status (released or changeable) of all transports associated with the change in the Status column of the transport requests table.
