Process documentationProcessing a Continual Cycle

Creating and applying a continual cycle for urgent changes, general changes, and administrative changes enables you to implement changes without having to use specific phases. You can edit continual cycles in the WebClient UI under Start of the navigation path Change Request Management Next navigation step Change Cycles End of the navigation path.

Process

  1. System administrators or technical project leads create a continual cycle and set the phase to “Active”.

  2. The system displays the guided procedure for creating task lists. For more information, see Creating Task Lists.

In this phase, developers can carry out all development activities for the change: Transport requests and tasks can be created, released, and imported.

  3. If there are no open transport requests, you can close the continual cycle by setting the phase to “Completed”.

The CTS projects are released and the related task list is closed. The system sets the phase of the cycle to “Completed”.

If there are open transport requests, requests for change, or change documents, the system displays a popup showing the open change transactions and transport requests and the cycle cannot be completed yet.

    Note Note

This system behavior also applies if you want to set a continual cycle to “Withdrawn”.

    End of the note.
  4. You can then create a new continual cycle.
