A test package is usually assigned to one tester who finds it in his worklist, under Tester Worklist
in the Test Management
work center. You can also assign several testers to the same test package.
Caution
If you want to test a test case twice, independently from each other, you can do one of the following:
Create the same test package twice and assign each package to a different tester.
Assign two testers to the same test package, and ask each of them to test each test case. Because the status is tester-dependent, the test case will only appear with status OK
if both testers set this status ("worst wins" rule). If one of the assigned testers does not start testing, his statuses is ignored.
For automatic test cases that run in the background, the four-eyes principle is superfluous because any tester would get the same result. The aggregation rule "last wins" applies, and it does not make sense to assign several testers to the same test case.
When several testers are assigned to the same test package, each of them must set a status for each test case. The overall status evaluation of the test case, on test package level, will consider the individual status set.
When the same test case is part of different test packages (with one or more testers assigned to it), the overall status on the test plan for the test case, will be evaluated based on aggregation rule defined for the test plan level. The rules are defined in the customizing for SAP Solution Manager (transaction SPRO
): .
All persons involved in testing should be registered as business partner. A system user has been assigned to their business partner. To store the system user, the business partner has the Team Member
role. In the SAP Easy Access screen, choose .
If you also want to use the Workflow, a valid e-mail address is stored for the business partner.
Proceed as follows:
In the Test Plan Management
view of the Test Management
work center, select a test plan.
Select a test package and choose
On the Testers
tab, choose Assign Tester
to select a new tester.
The tester is added to the list of testers. When you select a tester from the list, you see all the test cases from the test package, which are automatically assigned to the tester.
Save and close the window.
To remove test packages from the tester worklist without losing the tester assignment, you can lock the assignments. This is useful when a test is finished and the tester should not change the status any longer.
Proceed as follows:
In the Test Plan Management
view of the Test Management
work center, select a test plan.
Select a test package and choose
On the Testers
tab, select the tester whom you want to lock and choose (Un-)Lock Assignment
.
In the Assignment
column, the lock icon shows you who is locked or unlocked.
You can lock and unlock a tester with the same button.
Save and close the window.
You can also lock or release all testers' assignments at once, from the Test Plan Management
view, by selecting a test package and choosing or Release
. The icon on the package list shows a lock icon if all testers are locked and a lock icon with the user if only selected assigned testers are locked.
You can completely delete the assignment of a tester to a test package, including the deletion of the testing data collected so far (test status, test results, and link to defects for a tester).
Caution
You should not delete the assignment of a test package to a tester if it has already been processed because you would lose information.
Proceed as follows:
In the Test Plan Management
view of the Test Management
work center, select a test plan.
Select a test package and choose
On the Testers
tab, select the tester whom you want to delete and choose Unassign
.
Save and close the window.
As soon as a tester is assigned to a test package, he is automatically assigned to all test cases in the test package. He will also be assigned automatically to any test case that is added to the test package, afterwards).
