Procedure documentationRecording TBOMs for Web Applications

To create TBOMs for executable units which do not run in the classical SAP GUI, satisfy the prerequisites and familiarize yourself with the differences from the standard process.

The following types of web applications are supported by semi-dynamic or static TBOMs:

  • Web Dynpro

  • BSP

  • CRM WebClient

  • SAP CRM people-centric UI

SAP Web Link (SAP_LONG_URL) are not supported by static or semi-dynamic TBOMs. In this case, create a dynamic TBOM. With SAP Web Links you can, for example, specify the URL of a portal via which an SAP application in an ABAP application server is started.

Prerequisites

  • You have identified the solution documentation nodes or executables types which use Web applications.

For more information, see Checking the TBOM Coverage and Status.

  • You know the Web application user which connects to the SAP ABAP system.

Procedure

  1. Ensure the following:

    • In the type SAP Web Link application, the URL starts an SAP application in an ABAP application server.

    • The managed systems have at least kernel status 700.

    • The managed systems have at least ST-PI 2008_01 SP03.

  2. Follow the TBOM recording instructions. For more information, see Creating Dynamic TBOMs.

  3. Choose Start Recording.

  4. Specify the user.

Before the executable entity runs, the system prompts you for a user (action “User prompt” in the following graphic). The default proposed is the user with which the SAP Solution Manager system logged on to the ABAP application server (user 1 in the following graphic).

Specify the user with which the web application accesses the ABAP application server (user 3 in the following graphic).

User 3 is specified by the web application. The user 2 which you specify must be the same as user 3, to ensure the recording.

  5. Execute the executable entity.

  6. Close the browser window in which you have run the executable entity.

    Note Note

You can only be sure that all objects in the executable entity are recorded, if you close the browser window before you end the recording.

    End of the note.
  7. In the Recording for <executable entity type> dialog, choose End Recording.
