On the left of the Directory Browser, there is a navigation bar in which you can select the desired managed object for which you want to display metrics, events, alerts, and templates used.
You have various selection options. You can specify them in the dropdown box Navigation per
.
Monitoring Use Case
Specify selection options to display the managed objects of a technical monitoring topic. Select a Monitoring Use Case
and an entry point. The entry point and the hierarchy of managed objects below it are shown in the navigation bar.
Note
There is a hierarchy of managed objects for each monitoring use case (which may only consist of a single level). The entry point is the top hierarchy level of these objects.
Managed Object Type
Select this option to display specified managed objects of an object type (e.g. technical system). Choose the object type in the drop-down list. You can specify the names or IDs of the managed objects to be displayed. Only the selected managed objects are displayed, not the hierarchy of objects below it.
Managed Object with Hierarchy
Select this option to display specified managed objects of an object type (e.g. technical system) with the object hierarchy below it. You have the selection options of Managed Object Type
, and the object hierarchy (e.g instances, database and hosts of type Technical System
) is displayed under the selected managed objects.
Select your option, enter any further optional names, type or ID of the managed objects to display, and choose Copy
. The objects are displayed in the navigation bar Managed Objects
. Double-click on a managed object to display its data.
Note
Once you have selected the desired managed object, you can hide the navigation bar at any time to have more space for displaying the data. To do so, choose the (Hide Navigation
) button.
A managed object is an entity in your system or business process landscape; in technical monitoring it is also a container for metrics, events, and alerts. The following types of managed objects are displayed in the Directory Browser:
