Procedure documentationChecking Out/Checking In Business Processes

As a project team member:

  • You would like to check out business scenarios used in production and/or processes for adjusting or making changes within a maintenance project from the Solution Directory.

  • After processing the Business Blueprint (transaction SOLAR01) for the maintenance project, you would like to check the adjusted or changed business processes back into the Solution Directory for production operation.

As a project leader or administrator:

  • You would like to check out certain business scenarios or confirm processes and assign particular project team members for processing

  • You would like to check in certain changed or adjusted business scenarios from the maintenance project or confirm the resumption of processing of processes in production operation.

Prerequisites

You have assigned a maintenance project to your solution and selected the check-out function in the solution settings.

If you use the dual control principle in the check-out/check-in function, you must have assigned the appropriate project team members to the maintenance project.

Procedure

Note Note

Activating the check-out/check-in function switches the solution permanently into display mode. It is therefore no longer possible to edit the solution in the Solution Directory You can only make changes to the solution in the maintenance project.

Once your business scenarios reach a certain size, the check-in function can cause a timeout, or memory problems can prevent check-in. This size as of which this can occur depends on various factors, such as the release, system performance, or a combination of the elements in the scenario. Depending on these factors, a timeout or a memory problem could occur as of a total number of 3500 elements. SAP Note 1345599Information published on SAP site outlines how you can determine the total number of elements in the business scenario, and what to do if a check-in times out.

End of the note.
