Procedure documentationMonitoring the Status of Jobs

Prerequisites

  • Activate the following SICF services: JOBMON_DATA, CNMUI5SVC, UI5_UI5, AGS_OCC_UI5, BSP jobmon_runtime

  • Deselect browser cache.

  • To make the Refresh of the Job Monitoring UI work correctly with IE 9 and IE 10, change the following settin:

    1. Go to Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step Internet Options End of the navigation path

    2. In Start of the navigation path General Next navigation step Browser History End of the navigation path, choose Settings.

    3. In Check for newer versions of stored pages, select the option Every time I visit the web page.

Procedure

  1. Launch Job Monitor in one of the following ways, by choosing the required monitored objects that are created in systems, scenarios or solutions:

    • Go to Start of the navigation path Technical Monitoring work center Next navigation step Job Monitoring and BI Monitoring Next navigation step Job Monitoring tab End of the navigation path. Choose the Systems or Scenarios from the respective tabs according to your requirements.

    • Go to Start of the navigation path Business Process Operations (New) work center Next navigation step Business Process Monitoring End of the navigation path. Choose the business process and the corresponding monitored objects according to your requirements, and click on Trend icon in the Trend column.

    • Go to Start of the navigation path Job Management work center Next navigation step Job Documentation Next navigation step Job Monitoring drop down list Next navigation step Job Monitor End of the navigation path

      You can also open the Job Documentation link and go to System tab, select a logical component and click on Job Monitor.

    • Select Alert Inbox from one of the work centers, and click on JobMon Alerts (-) in the Active Queries area. Then, from the Navigate to drop down list, choose Monitoring.

    The new MAI platform-based unified Job Monitoring application appears.

  2. Open the object node to view the object details.

  3. Analyze the start time, out of time, duration, and status of the object.

    If the object status is not green, systems raise alerts.

  4. To notify a user about the status of the job, create a notification.

  5. To request support for resolving an error or to follow up an object, create a support message.

  6. To analze the status and performance of a monitored object over a period of time, choose Reporting tab.

  7. Check the trend chart of alert history of the monitored object, to analyze the job and take any business-critical decisions.
